APRIL NOTES
CHURCH COUNCIL MEETING
ELDERS
· Reviewed schedule
· Rev. Dennis Rockett is scheduled for three Sundays per month.
· Kevin Cook may be available for a May Sunday.
· Ascension Day - Zion is hosting an evening service for multiple churches along with choirs.
MISSIONS & EVANGELISM
· $110 in gift cards as well as our monthly mission funds of $380 was given to the Closter Food Pantry
CHRISTIAN FELLOWSHIP/SOCIAL ACTION
· Spent $62 for K-cups.
· Put out donation bag to help defray coffee costs.
· 42 quilts and 10 school backpacks were boxed and, thanks to the Bieri’s, were delivered to the church in River Edge that is organizing shipping.
PROPERTY
· Lost heat last week– repaired.
· Side door by Narthex was sticking shut. Roy shaved it down for ease in opening and closing.
OLD BUSINESS
· Website – no update.
· John Beddoe – Unfortunately, due to inclement weather, no one showed up for his program.
· On-line streaming is being worked on by Roy Merz and Drew Correa.
· Carillon has been purchased and is being used. Roy Merz and Scott Johnson will be working on additional programming. We will have a plaque made and have a dedication with the Lofmark family.
· Constitutional Amendment – see letter from Pastor Gewecke regarding district evaluation of amendment. Discussion ensued. President Roy Merz will send a reply to Pastor Gewecke seeking clarification as the Synod handbook (copy attached) allows for us to allot our assets should the church dissolve.
NEW BUSINESS
· Brittany Steindel is still using our facility.
ST. PAUL’S CALL COMMITTEE
The Call Committee is awaiting the second call list from the New Jersey District.
